I finished this Just as it turned Monday here, because I am one timely mofo like that.
Anyway, whoo, I managed to finish a page and we are back!

While we were gone we were nominated for the Danish comic prize ‘Ping Prisen’.
Apparently cool things happen when you don’t work on your comic! What d’ya know 8D

Edit 8/1 2012:
Remember when I said we’d be back on the 9th? Yeeaaahhh…. Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. I’m currently buried in exams I need to study for and have no time to draw.
I didn’t mean for this to turn into a mini-hiatus, but such is life. Hopefully I’ll have a page next week, but I don’t want to promise what I don’t know if I can keep (I mean look where that got me just now).

And now, contest results! Maia, our co-judge Maria, and I found a winner!

Our choice fell on this lovely drawing by Heather McCulley.
While judging we put most weight on the ideas behind the entries, and while this is pretty simple it’s also nice and clear in its simplicity and illustrates Rebound as a whole really, really well. Other than that it is well composed and we can see quite a lot of effort went into it.
Congrats again Heather, there’s a bag and a Nicholas drawing on the way to you :)

I’d also like to give special credit to the runner-ups who might as well share second place since we gave points and these two came out almost even:

First this illustration by Chris Zarate.
Again this is a picture that clearly tells a story, and it even has an original character with some thought behind it. The picture as a whole is nicely composed and has a great atmosphere. Obviously a lot of work went into this one as well.

Second we have this character design and description by Hope Dunlap.
We liked the idea behind this species a lot, it fits nicely with the B.I.B.L.E.-verse what with the mix of fantasy and real mythology and culture. The character was also very well thought out and described. Solid work all around :D

But seriously, thank you Everyone who made an entry! We loved all of them and I wish they could all win C: I was really happy to see so many different kinds of entries – That was exactly what we were hoping for with this contest.

As it has become somewhat of a tradition I’m taking a holiday break from comics since I’m not really home anyway. That means no comic next week, but we’ll be back on the 9th of January!

Bonus info:
This scene takes place in the outer ring of Hell that is a sort of middle ground between the great sins’ circles and the outside world. It’s mostly lowlife, outcast demons that live there.
The outer ring isn’t all rocks, but it’s generally pretty barren land.

I’m really tired right now and I forgot if there was anything else I wanted to say.
Oh yeah; there’s only a little over a week left if you still want to join our contest, so hep hep.

Why, if it isn’t the very first real Hell critters we’ve seen in this comic.

I have a lot of news today about merchandise and also a contest, so hang on.
First of all I closed the merch survey just now. Thank you everyone who took the time to fill it out :)
It has brought us to the following verdicts:

POSTERS
If we were going to get posters printed the minimum print run would have to be of 20 posters for the price to be reasonable (around 10$ for an A2 size poster). We’d also have to offer them as pre-ordered items since we are poor. I’m not convinced we could currently sell 20 posters, so that means no posters. At least not for now :I

BAGS
Bags on the other hand. Bags we can do :D We found a company that can make them for pretty cheap, and better yet, ships worldwide at a really low price. In the survey this was bag nr. 2 by the way.
I already got a ~beta version~ and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I call it the beta version because there are some issues with the cropping and saturation of the print. I’ve fixed that and ordered a second one, though. Once I get that and can make sure it looks as intended we’ll put the bags up for sale. They’ll be 35$ a piece.
In the meantime have some pictures. (That’s my sister thrown in for size comparison, haha):

CONTEST
Speaking of bags, we feel like throwing one up (sponsored by Maia) + a piece of original art (by me) as a prize, so we decided to hold a contest!
Said contest will start right now and run for a month (until the 21st of December). You can enter with anything creative – Draw something, write something, film something, design a character, bake a freaking cake, whatever you can think of. We don’t care if you’re not brilliant at what you do as long as you have a good idea. Really, the only rule is it must be related to B.I.B.L.E. in some way.

It was a thing I drew for Maia because she talked about how cool it would be to have a Rebound bag, but now several people have mentioned they’d like one as well. So, Maia and I talked about selling messenger bags with this artwork if there’s a decent amount of interest for them.
The original image file is also huge enough to make posters of if anyone wants to buy them.
